We hope all of our Blue Raider Band friends and family will join us this Friday evening, September 20 in the L.D. Bell Gym for the Bell cluster Pizza Feast and Silent Auction. This is a great opportunity to support the band programs at all of our feeder junior highs (Bedford, Hurst, and Central) as well as your Blue Raider Band! Our first major student fundraiser is the March-A-thon, coming up Saturday, September 7^th. This is a VERY important fundraiser for students because 100% of the donations and pledges collected by a student go directly to that student’s individual account to pay off their band fee! We rely on band fees to charter buses for travel, pay for costuming and flags, feed the students at competitions, and so much more.

Week 4 Summer Band Schedule

Thanks to all for a great first FULL week of Summer Band! We accomplished a lot and were able to start learning drill and choreography this week! Next week’s schedule is attached and will be on the band website as well. Please remember to check the website calendar regularly in case there are any changes to the schedule and pay close attention to rehearsal location (Pennington vs. Bell).

Summer Band Week 2 Schedule

Summer Band for the 2019 LD Bell Blue Raider Band will begin on Thursday, July 25. Please reference the google calendar (www.ldbellband.org/calendar) for specific block times. We are looking forward to a great season!

The UIL now requires a current physical for all students participating in marching band statewide. The HEB ISD physical form was sent home with students and is also attached to this email and available on the website. Many clinics offer low-cost or no-cost physicals. (Ask for a “sports physical”) In fact, CareNow offers $20 cash pay sports physicals through August 31 (https://www.carenow.com/patient-services/medical-tests/sports-physical.dot). As a reminder, all parent volunteers will need to be cleared and have a badge through HEB ISD VIPS. We will have a district representative beginning at 6 pm in the LDB Cafeteria prior to the July 30 Parent Meeting to make badges. You must RSVP to have your badge made, however. Here is the link:
